OMBRA was originally conceived as a three minute solo in the spring of 2001. Influenced by gestural movement, this modern dance was expanded into a six minute group piece a year later. The soloist, (Karyn Yip, pictured right) is a woman walking along a path of discovery and is influenced and observed by a group of women who haunt her every move.

Diary of Four Mothers
DIARY OF FOUR MOTHERS was conceived and performed in the spring of 2003 shortly after the war in Iraq had begun. The piece was influenced by a new mothers realization of what some women may feel if their own child was sent off to war. As she watched a close friend being called up to active military duty, she asked herself ""What are the effects of war on a woman and her child?" The dance uses excerpts of various text by four different mothers from different backgrounds and different periods of time in war.
